Sectoral Reports

The sectoral reports implemented within the framework of the Observatory focus on the systematic and comprehensive recording of deficiencies or gaps in both the demanded and offered knowledge, skills, and professional specialties in the Just Transition Areas (JTA). The lignite-dependent regions, currently undergoing an energy transition, are facing significant changes in their labour market, making it imperative to identify these needs in a timely and accurate manner.

These reports are conducted on a semi-annual basis and focus on ten key sectors, which are:

  • Energy

  • Tourism

  • Food & Agricultural Production

  • Trade

  • Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)

  • Transport

  • Supply Chain

  • Industry

  • Construction

  • Service Activities

Through these sectoral reports, trends and changes occurring in the local labour market are mapped, professional specialties with the highest demand are identified and new sectors emerging because of the transition are highlighted. At the same time, these reports pinpoint the skills and competencies that are most lacking and guide the process of designing education and training programs.

The results of these reports can contribute to updating the educational material provided to beneficiaries, enhancing the counseling guidance offered to them and adapting training programs to better meet the actual needs of the labour market. This ensures that trainees acquire the necessary skills and knowledge that will enable them to enter or re-enter the labour market, filling sustainable job positions that align with the demands of the evolving productive model of local economies.
